Going  on  along  the  highway , after  Villa  Pallavicino  (on  the  left)  and  its  botanical  and  zoological   park , you  arrive  in  Stresa  well  known  as  "the  pearl  of  Verbano" .
    Stresa  is  famous  for  its  natural  beauties ,  for  the  Borromeo  gulf  with  its  islands  and  for  the  mildness  of  its  climate .
   Here  North  blends  with  South , Mediterranean  nature  is  grafted  surprisingly  on  to  Prealpine  setting  and  vivid  southern  colours  merge  with  a  subalpine  and , in  some  way , Central  European  pattern .
