Let saute chopped onions with oil
in a skillet over moderate heat
until golden brown . Let aside .
Mix well in a bowl
the ground beef with eggs , Parmigiano ,
golden onions , salt and pepper to taste .
Let saute in a skillet
the crumbed sausage with butter over
moderate heat for a few minutes then
add the Marsala wine and let
evaporate . Let aside .
Line a loaf pan with
an aluminum foil and grease it with
some butter (the aluminum foil has
to be pretty large to cover meat
loaf before cooking) .
Spread 1/3 of the beef
mixture on the bottom of the pan .
Arrange over some crumbed sausage , some
carrot sticks , some peas and a
quartered hard boiled egg . Spread a
second layer of beaf then sausage ,
carrots , peas and egg . End with beef
mixture and fold the top with
the aluminum foil .
Bake in preheated oven
(400 F - 200 °C) for thirty minutes then
uncover the meat loaf taking off
the upper aluminum foil and continue
the cooking at 300 F (150 °C) for thirty
minutes more , until golden brown .
Remove from the oven
and remove the meat loaf from
the mold . Take off the aluminum
foil and let cool at room
temperature .
Prepare the sauce whisking
the "peperonata" in a mixer
and warming it up .
Serve sliced and covered
with hot peperonata sauce
